Rainfall has caused a rock massif to slide, blocking the old Lezhë-Rubik road axis.
The road blockage has been occurring since the morning hours and there has still been no intervention on the ground by the responsible structures, penalizing the movement of residents.
The heavy rains blocked the entrances to the buildings in Lezha, mainly in the “Besëlidhja” neighborhood. Due to the presence of water in the yards, the teaching process was canceled in two schools in Lezha, “Kosova” and “Gjergj Fishta”. The Drin River also flooded the promenade in the “Skënderbeg” neighborhood. Due to the rains, there was a significant increase in the flows in the Drin and Gjadër rivers.
There are 880 hectares of flooded land throughout the territory of Lezha.
In the Kurbin area, about 1,500 hectares of agricultural land are under water, specifically near the Patoku overpass on the highway and in the Mamurras administrative unit. About 100 homes in Kurbin were surrounded by water. In the village of Fushë-Mamurras, classes have been suspended.
