Journalist Mentor Kikia, analyzing the situation in DP, raised the question of whether there will be a figure who will come with a platform and the opposition will accept him as leader.
In an interview for the show "Now" on "Euronews Albania", he expressed his skepticism about this, as he pointed out that the politicians who have been in power for 30 years do not allow anyone to approach the parties that propagandize them as open.
" The question requires an urgent answer. Who will lead the Democratic Party, official or unofficial, will change its name, will not change it, this does not matter. The opposition will go to the elections. Who will lead it? Most of those who were at that meeting do not agree that the role of the leader should be Sali Berisha, and I completely agree that it will be an Albanian, but how will he come? What happens today with the invitation to open the party? The party was open, but no one wanted to enter. Why? Because those who stay at the front say 'come, but we have the seats'. This is the problem. You, who are 30 years old, are the problem because since you are 30 years old, that chair is not your property ", said Kikia.
He added that anyone who comes before Berisha should think carefully. According to the journalist, politicians in power do not allow you to become part of politics in the role of the protagonist.
" It is about a country with two million people. The person who will face him is a good measure because he is playing with his career. People didn't have the courage to go ahead of him because this leadership, I'm talking as a whole now, they don't consider the man who comes before them simply as a partner who is entering a race, but they consider him as an enemy who is trying to take the throne because here it follows the principle of medieval kingdoms and sultanates that the one who tries to take the throne is called a traitor and his head will be cut off ", said Kikia.
