Journalist Eni Ferhati stated that journalist Elton Qyno was escorted by order of SPAK today with the justification of revealing investigative secrets.
Ferhati made the comments on the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin" in Euronea Albania, where he said that Qynos' apartment was also searched by order of SPAK.
He said that this is a dangerous precedent, for the reason that the journalist cannot be accused of revealing investigative secrets, since he is not a state authority responsible for this work.
“Regarding a dangerous precedent that is currently happening, our journalist colleague Elton Qyno, is currently under escort by order of SPAK. And that this order is being executed by BKH, due to the release of investigative secrets.
Around 18:00 he was moved to his apartment, where control is being exercised. For the sake of truth, Qyno regarding the breakdowns of the "SKY ECC" application has been avant-garde in relation to the information he has published.
It is a dangerous precedent to accuse a journalist of revealing an investigative secret, when he is not a public authority, he has no responsibility for maintaining the secret, as it is the institution that produces this material. The journalist has no obligation to indicate the source. It shows the source only when national security is threatened and in cases where the state has no other option to get to the truth," said Ferhati.
