A clash between a pair of teachers and the director of the Local Education Office in Tropoja has escalated into a disturbing incident, including direct threats from the director's son.
Teacher Alfred Alfredaj, an employee at the 9-year-old school in Fierza, has reported on the show "Fiks Fare" that he was threatened by phone by Elsi Basha, the son of the director of the ZVA, after a post made on Facebook by his wife, also a teacher in the same area.
The post in question, which was a repost of an official announcement from the education office itself, was about the division of powers and emphasized that the education office should deal with school principals, not with disciplining teachers. This comment, according to the Alfredaj couple, was the “spark” that ignited an early institutional conflict. “My wife was previously the director of the Cadastral Office and had a clash with the mayor. We believe that he influenced the current director of the ZVA to exert pressure on us,” says Alfredaj. He adds that the conflict has been dragging on for years and has even taken legal action.

According to Alfredaj, the couple filed two reports of abuse of office against the director of the ZVA, but the Tropoja Prosecutor's Office decided not to initiate criminal proceedings. The court acted differently, ordering the registration of the case and the initiation of criminal proceedings.
"The court has ruled in our favor, but the pressure on us has only increased. We are under constant stress. I have seven children, I am a master teacher, and they are not letting us work in peace," says the indignant teacher.
Elsi Basha, the son of the principal and also an employee of the OSHEE in Tropoja, called Alfredaj and invited him for a “men’s coffee.” In the conversation recorded by the teacher himself, Basha is heard saying that he “doesn’t deal with women,” but asks Alfredaj to meet by 6:00 p.m., otherwise “he is not responsible for what happens next.”
Journalists have requested a statement from the director of the ZVA, who has denied any knowledge of her son's actions. Asked if she was concerned by the social media posts, she refused to comment further and left the interview, saying: "I will not answer you for anything anymore, go away."
The journalists then searched for Elsi Basha at the OSHEE premises in Tropoja, where his colleagues said he had left for family reasons. Even after being informed that the journalists were in the office, he did not return and blocked the journalist's number on his phone.
