Professor of Criminology Ervin Karamuço commented on the strategy published by SPAK for investigating electoral crimes.
He stated that the connection of crime with politics to influence the will of voters is a known phenomenon, denounced and investigated but never punished. Karamuço listed some of the cities that, according to him, are epicenters of electoral crime, where criminal gangs with political support influence elections.
" The events that have occurred and have been part of international reports, but today we do not have a court decision that connects organized crime with campaigns. We have had investigations, but no convictions. Several times the deadlines and various things have been prescribed. Of these, we have Shkodra, a problem that has come to light on Sky Ecc. We have Lezha, a problem, as there is an open conflict there that has started due to political clashes. We have Durrës, Tirana, yes. Tirana being large, it is not known how the groups move. We have Elbasan. We have several people wanted who have influenced the campaigns. We have Fier, which has a very active group under the rug because they are involved in influencing the elections. We have Vlora and Dibra. These are the hot areas ," he said on the 'Review' show on Euronews Albania.
