The former commander of the Naval Forces Artur Meçollari spoke about the recent clashes between Albania and Greece.
Invited to the "Review" show on Euronews Albania, Meçollari said that the clashes between Prime Minister Edi Rama and his Greek counterpart Kiriakos Micotacis, did not start with Fredi Beleri but with the issue of the sea.
"The contradictions between Rama and his Greek counterpart did not start over the "Beleri" issue, but started over sea issues. They started 8 months before the "Beleri" case happened, it happened in Bratislava. The objections started in November 2022.
Dendias declared, we stand by the political agreement, while the Albanian side requested the modification of the political agreement of October 20, 2020, and here it reached the climax, precisely with the introduction of the Greek ship for underwater research in the territory of Albania, as well as the meeting of Rama with the Greek counterpart in Bratislava, where after this meeting Rama said that the issue of the sea is not so easy but it is complicated", said former commander Meçollari.
