Journalist Mentor Kikia, commenting on the suspension of the ratification of the agreement with Italy for immigrants by the Constitutional Court, said that the issue has two dimensions, that of constitutionality and the civic dimension.
Invited to the studio of the show "Open" on News24, Kikia added that most of the citizens who reacted to this case did not care if the agreement was constitutional, but they were worried because they were not clear about what was going to happen. According to him, the decision of the Constitutional Court may have been influenced by public opinion.
“The issue of immigrants has two dimensions, that of Constitutionality, which is of interest to people who deal with maintaining its implementation, and the civic dimension. Most of the citizens who reacted to this case did not care if the agreement was constitutional, but were concerned because they were not clear about what was going to happen.
The decision of the CJK may have been influenced by public opinion and since it was suspended, I believe that the agreement can be blocked, despite the will of the Parliament to vote for it". he said among others.
