Altin Dumani has responded to Edi Rama after the ominous plan to control.
The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, has stated that the institution he leads does not have a dependent relationship with other powers.
This statement comes as a response to Prime Minister Edi Rama's plan to set up an ad hoc commission, which will control the institutions that depend on the Assembly, including SPAK. Duman has dashed Rama's hopes, making it clear that this attempt will fail.
During the meeting with students of the "Luigj Gurakuqi" university organized by the Helsinki Committee, he said that everything depends on the integrity of each prosecutor and court.
" We have used the proceeds from the confiscated assets and invested in technology. To be successful in the fight against corruption, we need good legislation and specialized structures, and these structures must have independence. We have total independence guaranteed by the constitution. No we have dependent relations with other powers. But everything depends on the integrity of each prosecutor and court, you can be independent but choose to flirt with the power.
We have tried to have people with integrity in SPAK. We have given signs that SPAK is able to investigate various entities regardless of their political and economic power. SPAK also investigates crime and terrorism, and we have also faced criminal structures regardless of how much power they have or their ties to politics. We are in this war every day, it is continuous.
To talk about successes, we must also wait for final court decisions. Every day we investigate and await guilty verdicts from the courts. It is daily work, stressful, tiring, but at the end of the day when you see that we are trying to break that myth of impunity then you feel good. It's tedious, but not impossible. This was done thanks to the change in the work methodology in the special prosecutor's office. Some methods that are used now have been rarely used and are now being used massively as tools for researching evidence and we have also changed the philosophy of researching evidence and we have abandoned the traditional ones .
