A 48-hour truck drivers' protest in Montenegro blocks the movement of heavy vehicles from Albania to the neighboring country.

The announcement came from the authorities, according to which the protest in Montenegro will start at 11:30 on Sunday and continue for 48 hours.

As a result, for security reasons and to avoid road blockages or possible incidents, the movement of heavy vehicles from Albania to Montenegro will not be allowed until the end of the protest.

On the roads leading to border crossings, only small vehicles, emergency vehicles, buses and passenger transport vehicles will be allowed.

The Border Police asks for the understanding of truck drivers and appeals for respect for restrictions during the protest period, in order to avoid possible blockages and incidents.

Montenegrin authorities have announced that on 26.01.2026, starting at 11:30, for a period of 48 hours, the Truckers' Association of the Republic of Montenegro will hold a protest.

For security reasons and to avoid road blockages or possible incidents, the movement of heavy vehicles from Albania to Montenegro will not be allowed until the end of the protest.

On the road axes leading to the border crossings with the Republic of Montenegro, only small vehicles, emergency vehicles, buses and passenger transport vehicles will be allowed to circulate.

The Border Police requests the understanding of drivers of heavy tonnage vehicles to respect the movement restriction period, in order to avoid road blockages or possible incidents.
