The State Police have arrested 18 protesters, while placing Democratic MPs and officials under investigation, in connection with incidents that occurred during the protest organized on Saturday afternoon and which lasted about 3 hours.
Among the MPs being investigated by Ilir Proda's police are Luçiano Boçi, Klevis Balliu, Gazment Bardhi, who are accused of resisting police officers. The DP's Organizing Secretary, Ervin Minarolli, has also been placed under investigation.
According to an official announcement from the police, 18 people have been arrested, 17 others have been criminally prosecuted, while 2 people are wanted.
The arrested are Ardian Lici, Anduel Lleshi, Alan Lika, Anastas Mema, Tomas Koja, Ergi Shkurta, Sali Saraci, Ervis Mirashi, Adrian Toli, Rei Hasko, Bledi Spaho, Eldison Huli, Alket Toska, Leonid Xhebexhiu, Besnik Bali, Elton Hoti, Roni Bizhoti and Hamza Cani.
According to the police announcement, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen Ervin Minarolli, serving as organizational secretary of the political entity Democratic Party, for the criminal offense of "Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations" as well as citizens Luçiano Boçi, Klevis Balliu and Gazment Bardhi, for the criminal offense of "Opposing a Public Order Police Officer".

They threw petrol bombs (Molotov cocktails) and opposed and hit police officers during the rally held yesterday. 37 citizens have been identified.
18 of them are arrested, 17 are criminally prosecuted, and 2 others are wanted.

On 24.01.2026, at around 17:00, the political entity Democratic Party held a rally on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, in front of the Prime Minister's Office and Parliament.
During the rally, some of the participants opposed State Police officers who were scheduled to serve to guarantee public order and safety, and threw fuel (Molotov cocktails) at them.
As a result of the investigative actions, 37 citizens were identified who committed illegal actions during the rally. The following: - the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: AL, 19 years old, A. Ll., 26 years old, AL, 24 years old, AM, 30 years old, TK, 25 years old, E. Sh., 24 years old, SS, 21 years old, EM, 30 years old, AT, 50 years old, RH, 24 years old, BS, 48 years old, EH, 22 years old, AT, 47 years old, L. Xh., 26 years old, BB, 48 years old, EH, 40 years old, RB, 40 years old and HC, 20 years old; - criminal proceedings were initiated against the following citizens: B. N, E. V, A. P, KK, F. P, M. K, D. B, R. K, A. Z, R. T, and 3 minors; -Citizens S. D and E. Ll were declared wanted.
Also, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen EM, serving as organizational secretary of the political entity Democratic Party, for the criminal offense of "Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations" as well as citizens L. B, K. B and G. B, for the criminal offense of "Opposing a Public Order Police Officer".
The 11 police officers who were injured during the rally received treatment in hospital and are out of danger.
The investigative group continues its work to identify other citizens who may have committed illegal acts during the rally held yesterday.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
