The opposition protest in Tirana has once again become tense, as a group of protesters threw Molotov cocktails and fireworks towards the Prime Minister's Office building.
As a result, the flames briefly engulfed the entrance to the government building, but the immediate intervention of firefighters made it possible to neutralize the fire and prevent its spread.
Following the incidents, police forces used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd and restore control to the area.
Following the clashes, protesters have moved towards the Parliament building. Even the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was seen wearing a gas mask, as he moved towards the Parliament together with his supporters.
The situation remains tense, while law enforcement continues to be positioned along the boulevard and near the main institutions.
