The Elbasan region has been affected by cold weather conditions, with low temperatures in the mountainous areas dropping from -5 to -11 degrees Celsius. Despite the low values, the situation appears stable and without major problems.
On national and rural road axes, vehicle traffic continues normally, without any blockages or difficulties noted, thanks to continuous monitoring and interventions by the responsible structures.
Regarding the hydrological situation, the flows of the Shkumbin River and the Zaranika Stream are decreasing, posing no risk of flooding or problems for the surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, several power outages have been reported in the Labinot Mal Administrative Unit, in the Elbasan municipality, as well as in the Qendër Administrative Unit, in the Librazhd municipality. Working groups are monitoring the situation to restore power as soon as possible.
It is also announced that at 09:00, discharges at the Banjë HPP will be stopped, a planned action that is being monitored by the relevant structures to avoid any possible impact on the areas below the dam.
Local authorities continue to monitor the situation on the ground and call on citizens to exercise caution, especially in mountainous areas and during movements in the early hours of the morning, when temperatures remain low.
