Analyst Artur Zheji, speaking about the Berlin Process Summit that was held today in Tirana, said that the EU is trying to stop the Western Balkans from turning into Europe's horror.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Zheji said that the EU's strategy is to "throw" some money in this region, which is characterized by deep problems, in an effort so that our countries do not become problematic for the union.
" First, what is the Western Balkans? Countries that have unresolved inter-ethnic problems. Montenegro, where there is an ill-treated Albanian community. We have Kosovo, which came out of a war, NATO and the USA were forced to bomb and with inter-ethnic problems strong, with ethnic cleansing.
We have North Macedonia, with a very strong Albanian presence everywhere, but relatively clarified because we had Ali Ahmet's fight to reach normal standards. We have Bosnia and Herzegovina with a big problem there. Even Serbia. Undoubtedly Albania too. So they are countries with many problems, which, without sewing up their stomachs disturbed by the bowels of inter-ethnic relations, robbery, extortion, drug trafficking, all these types of trafficking, cannot pass the minimum standard to enter into a negotiation which is called the European Union.
On the other hand, since they are European countries, it is a big problem. So there is a big overlap. Serbia is between Moscow and Brussels. Having said that, it was a noble effort to keep a bunch of countries with many problems, in a yard of normality, so they don't go crazy, get killed, get bitten, don't become the terror of Europe. This is a long process.
It is a long process. When there is a hunger for inter-ethnic solutions, when there is a hunger for a solution of a minimalist political normality, then what should a deserted Europe do? Throw money, they say these are "hungry animals", let's give you something to eat! Because when they eat, they are calmer. There are countries that are powder kegs. In their jargon we are called countries, still with problems in deep emancipation. We give us medicine so that we can normalize.
