Following the meeting held in Saranda by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, on the issues of illegal construction and the occupation of public spaces, other measures have been taken at the institutional level, following the arrest of the head of the city's police station.
The director of the Regional Directorate of the IKMT in Vlora, Elton Caslli, has also been removed from his post. It is learned that he submitted his resignation after the initiation of procedures for administrative measures by the central IKMT. The reason for this decision, according to sources, was the failure to exercise functional duties and the consequences observed in the territory.
Likewise, a disciplinary procedure has been initiated against the Head of the Territory Inspection Sector at the Vlora Regional Directorate, Xhovalin Hoxhaj.
During the meeting in Saranda, Minister Lamallari demanded immediate reaction and responsibility from law enforcement structures, including the State Police, IKMT and IMT, to curb illegality in the territory.
"Step up for God's sake to the responsibility that has been given to you. We cannot allow something greater to be violated. Zero tolerance for illegality and responsibility for any institutional inaction. Illegal construction, occupation of public spaces or abuses at the expense of civic interest and sustainable development of tourism, are a red line," said Minister Lamallari during his speech.
