In addition to many Albanian holidays in different countries around the world, a parade was planned to be held in London on November 28, but it did not take place.

The cause was the London Metropolitan Police, which did not allow celebrations to take place.

The police did not allow music, musical instruments, or any festive events.

Numerous London police forces surrounded them and began detaining the Albanians.

Meanwhile, Albanian citizens living in Greece celebrated Independence Day yesterday evening with a large gathering in Syntagma Square in Athens.

Flag Day commemorates Albania's independence from the Ottoman Empire, which was declared by Ismail Qemali in Vlora on November 28, 1912.

On the occasion of this event, hundreds of Albanians, many of them with their children, holding Albanian flags, gathered again in the main square of the Greek capital, dancing folk dances to the rhythms of traditional music.

We recall that such gatherings by the Albanian diaspora are common in the main capitals of EU countries and beyond, as they culminate in parades and the unfurling of giant red and black flags in London and New York.
