"Symbol of the division of the nation", Gjikondi: Berisha seemed

This Wednesday, the Special Prosecutor's Office was officially charged with the crime of "passive corruption" committed in cooperation with former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, in connection with the investigation file for the privatization of the former "Partizani" sports complex.

Analyst Brizida Gjikondi said that if found guilty, the former prime minister risks 4-12 years in prison.

Gjikondi further stated that for his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, who is also being investigated for money laundering, the punishment may range from 5-15 years of imprisonment.

"They have a sentence of 4-12 years, while for the crime of money laundering, where his son-in-law is accused, the sentence is 5-15 years in prison. There are inherent indications that Berisha and his family have hidden the income and benefits they had ," she said.

She emphasized that Albanians for the first time saw today a prosecutor's office, which is no longer under the orders and command of former Prime Minister Berisha.

He indirectly said that he has committed a crime, but not a criminal one. That was his context. For the first time we see a prosecutor's office that is not subordinate to Berisha. Today I saw Berisha as a cowardly man. It is a symbol of the division of the nation and it is trying to make a mess of "Non Grata". He is trying to take a whole country hostage for the trouble he has", added Gjikondi.

Furthermore, Gjikondi said that SPAK seems to have taken seriously its mission to clean up what she called "the murky waters of Albanian politics". SPAK is shaking the stagnant and stinking waters of Albanian politics and we hope that by the time of the parliamentary elections, we hope that this water will be drained somehow.

According to Gjikondi, Sali Berisha has turned into a person without moral and political values and as such cannot aspire to become the prime minister of the country, but must account for the abuses committed while leading the country.

"He is a person who has no value to be at the head of a party and no longer aspired to become prime minister of Albanians. I would very much like to remove the mandate of the deputy. Until April, I believe we will have news from Mr. Berisha" , she told "Abc News".
