The Special Prosecutor's Office is verifying the blackmail that was allegedly made to the former mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici, through an intimate video filmed in his office and published in the last few days.
Gjici claimed in his resignation notice that the video was made for blackmail by political opponents.
SPAK investigators have already started the verifications to find out who is behind this alleged blackmail by the former mayor.
Gjici was arrested on Saturday by the decision of the Special Court, which has appointed him in absentia to prison for passive corruption.
While the other protagonist of the video, Alma Kaci, was informed of the measure of house arrest for the accusation of active corruption in the police of Shkodra. It is known that she was stopped on Saturday evening in Shkodër while she was alone in the car. According to the sources, for almost a week, the young woman was kept under surveillance by BKH agents, while in Shkodër she had also been looking for an apartment for rent. After the arrest, the girl was taken to her apartment in Durrës.
Initially, SPAK launched an investigation against Gjic for the accusation of abuse of office, but after the complete seizure of the video, his conversation with the girl with whom he had an intimate relationship was also revealed, where he talked about a project that would be financed by the municipality of Kukës for the sterilization of street dogs.
