Albania has been hit by the African heat wave.
According to weather forecasters, the peak of the heat will reach on Friday, where temperatures are expected to rise to 40 degrees Celsius in the shade, while in the sun the thermal sensation will be even higher, up to 45 degrees.
" The Albanian territory is under the influence of African heat waves, causing extremely high temperatures. Maximums in the territory will be recorded at 39-40 degrees Celsius. 40 degrees Celsius will be recorded in the Elbasan region, while Berat and Koplik are expected to record air temperatures at 39 degrees Celsius. In the sun, air temperatures usually feel 4-5 degrees higher than normal values ," says meteorologist Hakil Osmani from Meteoalb on "TV Klan".
Forecasters say this is the hottest wave so far this season.
" The current heatwave will last until the weekend, while Saturday and Sunday will bring a gradual drop in air temperatures ."
Authorities appeal for increased care for children, the elderly and the chronically ill, as well as avoidance of sun exposure during midday hours.
