Former deputy director of the Albanian National Anti-Corruption Agency (AKSHI), Daniel Shima, who was reported missing yesterday by his family, has explained the circumstances of the incident to the police. According to Shima, the message he sent to his partner "they are arresting me" was due to an argument between them.
He then goes on to say that he did this to take some time and calm down for a few days in the south. On the other hand, he explains that he returned home after the situation gained major media coverage.
"I was busy with my partner and said I would go south to calm down for a few days, but I saw that my family was worried and it became a media sensation and I returned," Shima told the police.
Shima was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon by his mother, who went to police station no. 1 with suspicions that he might have been arrested, as in a communication she had had with a relative, he had said that he was being arrested. From the verifications carried out, it resulted that there was no arrest issued against him.
