The trials for the Gerdec case are continuing at the Special Court, where former Minister Fatmir Mediu was absent from the session as he is in the US, while the defense has contested the evidence of SPAK. In parallel, SPAK has sent to the United States an audio recording related to the events of January 21, 2011, where an expert examination is awaited to verify the authenticity and identification of the voices in the chain of command of the Republic Guard. This file remains one of the most sensitive and important in recent investigations.
In the field of organized crime, Mariela Berisha has appeared before SPAK for questioning in the framework of investigations into a structured criminal group, while her former partner, Jetmir Pepa, remains at large. The investigations relate to an international cocaine trafficking network that is suspected of operating between Latin America and Europe, with large quantities of drugs transported through commercial containers and front companies.
An armed robbery was recorded in Tirana at an OTP Bank branch near the “Selman Stërmasi” stadium. A masked person followed an elderly woman who was going to deposit money and, threatening her, took the amount she was carrying. The perpetrator fled on an electric scooter and the police are working to identify and capture him.
A tragic accident occurred in Lushnja, where a 43-year-old man lost his life after a police chase and loss of control of the vehicle. The incident is being investigated to determine the exact circumstances.

A serious accident involving five vehicles, including a camper with tourists, occurred on the Levan-Tepelena axis. Three people were injured, including two German citizens, but fortunately their lives were not in danger.
