85 MPs vote in favor of
the Assembly approving the dismissal of Belinda Balluku

Today, the Parliament approved the dismissal of Belinda Balluku, with 85 MPs voting in favor of the decision.
Balluku is replaced by Albana Koçiu.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, responded to the Chairman of the DP group, Gazment Bardhi, after the latter accused that the regulation is being violated regarding the report of the Mandates Council on the immunity of Belinda Balluku.

Balla said that Democrat Bardhi lied and that the Socialist Party is within the deadline to express its opinion regarding this issue. He explained to the public that by respecting the deadline, the reports will be ready at the earliest session, which falls on March 12.
The Assembly also approved the changes in the government proposed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Journalist demands accountability from minister
Why are there a shortage of medicines for patients with serious illnesses?

Journalist Osman Stafa has "caught" the Minister of Health, Evis Sala, by publicly asking her why there is a shortage of medicines for patients suffering from serious illnesses, while the minister tried to justify the situation with the measures that, according to her, are being taken to supply medicines.
During a press conference held for the reform of the oncology service at the national level, Stafa raised concerns about the lack of several important medicines at the Oncology Hospital.
"The medicines are currently in short supply at the Oncology Hospital. Two medicines are not available: Abiraterone, where prostate patients have been without therapy for two months, while Folinic Acid is bought as a drug on the street", the journalist said.

In response, Minister Sala said that measures have been taken to ensure the sustainability of the supply of medicines. According to her, teams are on standby to address emergency situations related to patients.
She also added that work is being done to draft standardized treatment protocols according to European Union practices, with the aim of ensuring a more sustainable supply of medicines in the future.

Rama dismissed her as minister, Spiropali reacts
"I am surprised that Berisha had the floor in the Parliament"
After Prime Minister Edi Rama's decision to dismiss the minister from her post, Elisa Spiropali reacted today in the Parliament.
"I am surprised that Sali Berisha had the floor in the Parliament", she said, reacting to the debate that took place in the Parliament hall.

"I don't only speak English, but also other foreign languages. But I don't speak any language better than Albanian. Even though I speak Albanian, I speak bluntly and speak properly with Albania and for Albania. Every duty here in the Assembly is a great honor. The only thing I regret is that Sali Berisha announced his departure and not someone else. That's why I'm surprised that he came up with the word and nothing else," said Spiropali.

Immediately after her, Sali Berisha took the floor in the Assembly to respond.
The leader of the DP responded by saying, "It's not from Berisha, no, it's from yourself. You were happy that now you would become deputy prime minister. It's not from Sali Berisha there, it's from yourself that you took the lead."

Diplomat Ferit Hoxha will replace Spiropali as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, Ermal Nufi, Enea Karakaçi, and Ferit Hoxha have arrived at the Parliament today, where they are expected to be voted on to officially take up ministerial positions, a day after being decreed by President Bajram Begaj.

After the vote in the Assembly, the new ministers will have to appear once again at Bajram Begaj's office before they can officially take office.
The oath to the Constitution is the final step in the procedure that gives the green light to ministers to enter office.

Clashes for residents of Rrjoll
The Ethics Secretariat expels Agron Shehaj for 20 days from the Assembly
The Ethics Secretariat has decided to expel the MP and leader of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, from the proceedings of the Assembly for a period of 20 days.

The decision came after the request of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, regarding the incident that occurred during Monday's plenary session.
During the session, Shehaj occupied the rostrum of the Assembly and refused to vacate it even after drawing attention. The action prevented the normal continuation of parliamentary proceedings.
After reviewing the case, the Secretariat of Ethics decided on the disciplinary measure that excludes the deputy from parliamentary activities for 20 days.

We recall that in Monday's session, Agron Shehaj was expelled from the Parliament, after clashing with the socialists over the residents of Rrjoll. The latter have been protesting for 1 month, as they oppose the construction of Bashkim Ulaj's resort, on land they claim as their own. He accused these residents of violence.
During his speech, Shehaj said that the residents of Rrjoll are being raped and their property is being robbed by the oligarch Bashkim Ulaj.

Opposition on its feet, chaos in the Parliament
How the situation in the Parliament became tense

The Democratic Party deputies stood up and occupied the Parliament podium, claiming that the rules of procedure were violated and they were not given the floor for a procedure. The tensions started after the remarks between the Democratic Party leader, Saali Berisha, and the former Foreign Minister, Elisa Spiropali.
The latter, taking the floor in the session, said that she was surprised that Berisha had the floor, who in previous sessions had warned Spiropali's departure from the Government. But Berisha said that Elisa Spiropali left because of Belinda Balluku.

The Democratic leader asked for the floor to reply to Spiropali, but the chairman of the session did not give him the floor, claiming that he would first read the agenda of the Assembly's proceedings. In this context, Peleshi announced that the President's decrees regarding the appointment of new ministers had arrived in the Assembly, while the DP deputies stood up and went to the Assembly's podium.
Flamur Noka and then Klevis Balliu and Ina župa were the first deputies who asked Peleshi to give the floor to Berisha, who occupied the podium, while the Assembly was voting on the President's decrees regarding the dismissal of ministers and the appointment of new names as part of the Government Cabinet.
