Meta reacts from prison/ Only one terrorist is held in the glass cabin
Ilir Meta reacted from prison after the court session held the day before, objecting to the way he was treated during the process.
Meta criticized the fact that he was held in a glass booth during the trial, calling this practice unacceptable.
"I contributed (to the new justice system) and I did it by consensus with 140 votes, the others overthrew the attorney general with 69 votes.
With this new justice, what the Helsinki Committee itself said a few days ago about my case or about the Beqaj case, or about the case of high-ranking public officials or former public officials, does not go with it, because the court of the new justice cannot give us as a standard for staying in a glass cabin, the standard of an Arab terrorist, of a suicide bomber who committed a terrorist act in France. That is not the standard of the European Convention, that is what the Helsinki Committee says.
This has nothing to do with practice, this is a subversion of democratic practices. I was arrested on July 2, it's been a year and I haven't been given the decision, what have I done wrong? How can I complain about a decision, I'm not given the decision to appeal it," said Meta.
Meta also raised concerns about the lack of transparency in the process against him, emphasizing that the decision has not yet been made available to him, which according to him prevents him from pursuing legal avenues of appeal.
Rama puts everyone in line/ The threat against Spiropal is a message for every voice against
The warning that Edi Rama gave to Elisa Spiropali at the group's meeting at the Brigades Palace was a message to everyone: anyone in the SP who raises their voice will be expelled.
For some time now, there have been divergences and dissatisfaction within the socialists, but no one has dared to raise their voices. Due to the fear of rebellion, Rama seduced some and sent some to prison.
Spiropali was among the only ones who openly opposed it, although this was only after she left her position as minister. Erion Braçe also seems not very pleased, as he has shown interest in the Municipality of Tirana.
However, Rama has made it clear to Spiropali and through her to everyone else not to dare raise their voices, as anyone who speaks against the party or against him finds themselves outside the group.
So it seems clear that the message was not just for Elisa, but for those who have begun to rebel, at least within the group, because basically the dissatisfaction does not stop.
Rama's propaganda falls/Albania is the last for productivity at work
The structure of the economies in the Western Balkans is clearly defining differences in labor productivity, with Albania resulting in the lowest level of output value per employee in the region. Data processed by the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (WiiW) for 2024 show that the gap with neighboring countries remains considerable.
Montenegro and Serbia top the rankings, with 47,050 and 46,260 euros per employee respectively, corresponding to 57% and 56% of the European Union average. This positioning is directly related to the structure of their economies. Montenegro benefits from a stronger orientation towards higher value-added services, while Serbia has built a broader manufacturing base supported by foreign direct investment and integration into industrial chains.
At an intermediate level are Kosovo and North Macedonia. Kosovo reaches 44,970 euros per employee, or 55% of the EU average, driven by the expansion of the information technology and contracted services sector. North Macedonia registers 43,810 euros per employee, around 53% of the EU average, reflecting the effects of free economic zones that have attracted exporting industries, particularly in the automotive sector.
At the bottom of the ranking are Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. Bosnia will register 35,950 euros per employee, while Albania will register 34,580 euros in 2024, or only 42% of the EU average. This low level of productivity is linked to the high weight of sectors with limited added value, such as agriculture and tailoring, as well as to the relatively low level of technology and automation in the economy. So it seems that the government's failed policy is to blame.
Insults against Albanians in Macedonia/ Ferit Hoxha tries to cover the "sun with a sieve"
Ferit Hoxha continues to act ignorant when it comes to insults against Albanians in North Macedonia. Even though the messages came out in the open, Ferit continues to be shaken.
He hosted Izet Mexhiti, leader of the Democratic Movement in North Macedonia and mayor of the Municipality of Chair, in a meeting today. After the speeches, journalists asked him for a comment regarding the messages made public, taking out his anger on the media.
"You are stuck in last week, while things have evolved. There is nothing true in those messages, you will not drag me wherever you want, I have evolved, Albania is walking on the EU path and I will not deal with smoke and mirrors," he said.
But the fact that he called Izet Mexhiti to the meeting clearly shows that Feriti said that word. But "the sun cannot be covered with a sieve". The Minister has tried today to show that he has good relations with them, but he cannot change the reality. We have as Foreign Minister a person who insults Albanians wherever they are.
