Today, the last farewell was given to the colossus of Albanian letters, Ismail Kadare, in the Tufina cemetery in Tirana, after the end of the tributes at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet.
His daughter, Gresa Kadare, in her speech at the cemetery where only family members of the writer were present, said that Kadare was quite special in all things.
"He was quite peculiar as in all other things. He obeyed only the laws of literature. He never annoyed me for my negligence. Lots and lots of others, but he did not spare sarcasm for the authors I read. On the other hand "I used to get excited whenever I found a hit line. I have adopted this philosophy myself since my childhood," said Ismail Kadare's daughter.
Present at the funeral ceremony were the granddaughters of Kadare's grandson, who were seen in tears next to each other.
