Day 35 marks massive turnout, with thousands of protesters gathering in front of the Prime Minister's Office
This Saturday's national protest saw massive participation.
Drone footage shows a boulevard packed with protesters, with the crowd stretching from the Prime Minister's Office building to the area of the former Hotel Dajti, covering almost the entire segment of the "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard.
Citizens from Tirana, the districts and the diaspora have joined the protest, responding to the call for a national protest. The boulevard is dominated by red and black flags, but also by the flags of the United States of America, on the day when the 250th anniversary of US Independence is marked.
Unlike the first days, when the protest began as a reaction to the project in Zvërnec, today it has turned into a broad movement against the political caste. The crowd continuously chants "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Revolution", "Resignation", "New Albania" and "Free the boys", in support of the protesters arrested after clashes with the police during Thursday's protest in front of the Parliament.
Aerial footage clearly shows the size of the rally, with the square in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the entire segment of the boulevard filled with protesters, in what is considered to be the most massive protest held during this wave of protests so far.
