Majlinda Taga, the wife of the Italian man killed in Salari, Tepelena, Edoardo Sarchit, spoke to Report TV about the crime that occurred.
Regarding the first versions of the event, and the claims made in the media about possible conflicts between the Braçs and Sarchi, or even political reactions, such as Berisha accusing Braçi of being the murderer and being protected by his political connections, Ms. Taga says that they have tarnished his image.
"They tarnished his image, destroyed us, killed us for the hundredth time. A man like Edoardo is not born a second time, anyone who knows him knows that ," she says.
The widow of the Italian entrepreneur, who is a business partner with Gazmend Braçi, the person Sarchi was with in the last moments when he was killed, speaks of the special bond between the two.
"Gazmend Braçi was like his own brother, he loved him like a brother, he even learned Albanian and used to say to him, "Death to you". For 2 years now, since Gazmend Braçi's guesthouse was built in Salari, where we all stay as a family, we go every weekend with friends, with comrades, with children. It is difficult for me to think that on those streets where we have passed with our children, they killed Edoardo ," she says.
She says she hopes the suspect is caught by the authorities as soon as possible. Ms. Taga says that neither she, nor Sarchi, who had often gone to Salari in the last 2 years, nor the Braç family knew the suspect and that they learned about him and the problems he had as a character, only after asking the residents of the area, with whom he had also shown danger and had had problems.
"We asked residents of the area about the suspect, and they told us that he is problematic, mentally ill. Other people in the area who have encountered him have also spoken out," she tells Report TV.
Regarding the dynamics of the event, Ms. Taga says:
"At first, only Gazmend Braçi confronted him, where he started a debate that he initially did not appreciate would reach the point of using a weapon, about the high beams of the car. He did not pay attention, the drunkard said. Then Sarchi also went."
At the moment the police were called for help, she says that gunshots from the suspect could still be heard.
