After the State Police and Emergency, Prime Minister Edi Rama made a public reaction to the murder of Elgi Proga in Pogradec.
The Prime Minister has defended the State Police and the Emergency, who are accused of trying to hide the incident and of not providing quick help to the victim.
Rama says that he understands every person who feels scandalized by the change of charge by the Prosecutor's Office.
Referring to today's two public clarifications, specifically by chief police officer Muhamet Rrumbullaku and the director of the National Emergency, Skënder Brataj, Rama says that all procedures were carried out in accordance with the law.

Today, the State Police and the National Emergency publically provided the evidence that refutes the disgusting aggression against them regarding the tragic event in Pogradec, where the police were accused without any basis of trying to hide the event, while the emergency seemed to be too late in providing help to the victim . In fact, all the documented evidence, whether of the police operation or the electronic system of the National Emergency, show that the Police arrested the author in record time for "Intentional murder" and the Emergency responded to the call for help in 7 minutes! "Manslaughter" brought up as a charge by the Prosecutor's Office, which sounds incomprehensible to anyone familiar with the dynamics of this tragic event, has nothing to do with the State Police or the emergency workers, who performed their duties with professionalism and full legal and moral integrity.
This is also the conclusion of the Police Surveillance Agency, which was engaged by the Ministry of the Interior, immediately after the emergence of claims or fabrications about the course of the event, by conducting the control of all the steps of the operation to catch the perpetrator of the murder. Without commenting on the position of the justice bodies, but fully understanding the indignation of anyone who feels scandalized by the charge brought by the Prosecutor's Office, I join the call of the State Police for all responsible sources of information to refer to the documents of the operation of the police as well as the emergency service, to fight disinformation and deliberate misinformation of the public, playing with a tragic death for all kinds of weak political, media or even simply inhumane motives.
