The "Metropol" shopping center was engulfed in flames on Monday afternoon in Lushnje, trapping dozens of people who were in it, but the residents of the building were also at risk.
A resident of the building, who received medical treatment at the Lushnje hospital, told ABC News that he and his family were evacuated from the apartment on the 9th floor, thanks to the help of the fire brigade.
He stated that he was trapped in the apartment for about 1 and a half hours. Fortunately, he and his family are in good health.
" We received first aid. I am a resident of the building, on the ninth floor. We were evacuated by the fire brigade, we were taken by the fire brigade. We sat more or less 1 hour and a half. Smoke was coming through the building, but we were out on the balcony. There were 5 of us, we all came to the hospital. Two children, mother and wife. We are very good ", he emphasized.
