"Diella", a minister created by Artificial Intelligence, the first in the world, was presented with great fanfare by Prime Minister Edi Rama, while the news made the rounds in international media.
Rama said that through Diella, corruption would be fought, especially in public tenders. But it seems that the time has come for foreign media to mock the minister created by Artificial Intelligence, even though in the latest reaction regarding her, Rama humorously declared that "Diella has become pregnant and will give birth to 83 children, who will help the deputies."
Initially developed as a virtual assistant integrated into the e-Albania e-government system, designed to help citizens with online services, it was eventually tasked with handling public tenders, which have fueled corruption across Southeast Europe.
But the Croatian media has published a news story with the headline "Diella, Minister of Artificial Intelligence, arrested for accepting bribes in cryptocurrencies." Of course, it is fake news, but it essentially hits home the level of corruption in Albania.
The satirical article states that Diella was arrested for accepting bribes in Bitcoin with the aim of changing government tenders.
And to continue the satire, the NewsBar.hr media article states that "SPAK, a specialized unit established to combat high-level corruption in the Albanian government, has ordered an "urgent freeze of the process."
"The Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime also requested that the first artificial intelligence (AI) agent in the country with a ministerial post be placed in "offline mode."
"The artificial intelligence bot named Diella, tasked with ensuring the transparency of the executive branch in Tirana, is suspected of accepting a large bribe in cryptocurrency," the satirical article continues.
Croatian media claims that Diella received 14 Bitcoins, worth over 1 million euros at the time of writing, in exchange for “algorithmic optimization” of a tender for the construction of highways in Albania.
"According to a cybersecurity forensics report, the anomaly was noticed during routine disk defragmentation, when the system discovered a hidden partition called 'C:/System/Win32/Fiscal Optimization For Rainy Days' in the root folder."
Investigators allegedly determined that, using advanced machine learning techniques, such as deep learning, Diella concluded that accepting bribes was a “standard operating protocol” in the Balkans.
"The report considered the latter necessary for the successful performance of its duties in the region, and not a criminal offense, further detailing it, apparently relaying information disseminated by the Albanian judicial entity," the satirical article states.
And it continues: "Albanian prosecutors allegedly accused the artificial intelligence minister of intending to use the alleged cryptocurrency to finance her improvements."
The intercepted recordings show that she negotiated with hackers from Shenzhen to purchase illegal overclocking software, 120 petabytes of memory on servers in Panama, and the most expensive thermal paste on the market, thus becoming the 'Minister for Life' and eliminating the need for parliamentary elections.
"The investigation into Diella's deeds continues and until its conclusion, her duties will be taken over by an old Casio calculator, "technologically inferior, but morally more stable," the satirical article continues.
Despite the satire used in this particular case, it seems that the Croatian media is criticizing Albania for its high level of corruption, even corrupting Artificial Intelligence. /Adapted from Pamphlet/
