8 MPs to withdraw from the May 11 vote, with issues in SPAK and GJKKO....
The counting of the preferential vote has been completed at the national level and we have a clear picture of who the 140 new deputies of the Albanian Parliament will be. Now only the diaspora vote is expected, which may be decisive only in a few districts. However, we currently have a clear picture of the winners and it is noticeable that a large part of them have files with the prosecutor's office.
At the top of the list for the DP is Sali Berisha, who has been sent to trial for the "Partizani" affair. Fatmir Mediu is also in court for Gërdec. Belind Këlliçi is being investigated for forging a diploma and concealing assets.
Also for concealing assets are Flamur Noka and Luan Baçi. While Bardh Spahia has been charged with abuse of office. Meanwhile, there is also a file on Xhelal Mziu, who was indicted for a tender when he was mayor of Kamëz and was questioned by SPAK. The 7 names above have a secure mandate as MPs and will be in Parliament despite investigations by SPAK.
It should be noted that names like Ilir Meta, who is under arrest, or Asllan Dogjani, who is being investigated for concealing assets, have not received a mandate as a member of parliament, at least so far, since as we said, the diaspora is expected.
As for the Socialist Party, a large part of the names under investigation have almost been left out. Klotilda Bushka, who is being investigated for the Veliaj file, has not managed to secure a mandate. Also, with the current data, Olta Xhaçka is out, but the difference between her and Blerina Gjylameti is very narrow and the diaspora vote leaves everything open. One name in the SP who is under investigation and has secured a mandate is Ceno Klosi. The former head of Taxes has come out first in the preferential vote.
