Internationals continue to deal strong blows to the Albanian government. Although the prime minister tries to remove himself as a revolutionary and does not accept the conclusions of internationals, for foreign agencies Albania continues to be a country drowned by corruption and crime.
The State Department blackballs the government in almost every report. But it seems that this time a strong slap has come from the American secret service. The CIA has updated the data on Albania and listed some issues. Starting from poor governance, corruption, crime, etc.
" Challenges for Albania include weak governance, corruption, climate adaptation, vulnerability to energy sector shocks and labor emigration ," the report states.
Also, our country continues to remain a country where drugs are rampant. " Albania is a source country for cannabis and an active point of transportation for Albanian drug trafficking organizations that move illegal drugs to European markets ", it is further emphasized.
In the report, a space is dedicated to the Armed Forces. According to the CIA, even though Albania is a member of NATO, it has a very modest military force.
" The Albanian Armed Forces (AFSH) are responsible for the protection of the country's independence, sovereignty and territory, assistance for internal security, the provision of humanitarian and disaster relief, as well as participation in international peacekeeping missions; is a small, lightly armed force that has undergone a modernization effort to improve its ability to meet NATO missions, including training and equipment acquisition; FASH has contributed a small number of forces to several NATO missions since Albania joined NATO in 2009, including peacekeeping/stability missions in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Iraq, and multinational combat groups in Bulgaria and Latvia; has also contributed to the EU and UN missions (2024) ," the report points out.
This blow comes at a time when only a day ago Rama rejected the conclusions of the internationals. He was asked by VOA about these reports and said that in many cases they are based on speculation.
" Corruption was a hotly debated topic for almost two years in the United States of America elections, and it wasn't a one-way debated topic, it was a two-way debated topic, which means that in this debate there is a lot about corruption; there are of course truths, which in the case of Albania we cannot deny, there are many untruths that are attractive in the political and media arena, there are many analyzes that are based on many speculations, but, to return and closed the answer: corruption in Albania is a problem, never so big as to deserve nightly chatter in all kinds of towers and on all kinds of platforms, but a problem that, precisely because it is real, we are confronting it either with reforms or with the modernization of services... ", said Rama.
Although the prime minister does not like the words of foreigners, it is a fact that Albania is black in every international report. / Pamphlet
