In March 2024, the New York Times published the secret bargain that Prime Minister Edi Rama had made with Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law, to give him 45 hectares of land for free on Sazan Island, for the construction of a resort worth $1.4 billion, through the company "Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC".
In July 2024, after Ivanka Trump's statement, the Albanian government and its media admitted that a bargain had been made for the resort on Sazan Island, serving as a strategic investment that brings great benefits to the Albanian economy, but the facts show that the benefits are only for the Trump family company.
After the bargain was made, Edi Rama ordered an urgent change to the law on protected areas, serving as a space for strategic investments, but he made sure that there were no obstacles to allowing the resort in Sazan, because he changed the law for this very purpose.
Until November 6, 2024, before the US elections were held, Babloku did not approve Jared Kushner's "Strategic Investor" permit because he was playing with two goals, waiting to see if Kamala Harris or Donald Trump would win.
Two weeks after Trump's victory was certified, Prime Minister Edi Rama secretly began again the accelerated procedures with the Territorial Development Agency and the National Territorial Council to grant the permit and title of "Strategic Investor" to Trump's son-in-law.
On December 30, 2024, by Decision No. 23 of the Strategic Investment Committee, signed by Edi Rama as chairman, the title of Strategic Investor was granted to Jared Kushner's company "Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC", for the investment "Tourist Resort-Sazan Island".
Even in this decision, Babloku has committed two official frauds, as if this investment was allegedly approved upon the proposal of the Territorial Development Agency and in implementation of Council of Ministers No. 785, dated October 7, 2020 with the subject: "Approval of the Memorandum of Economic Cooperation for projects and purchases in Albania, between Albania and the USA".
When in fact, Jared Kushner did not buy 45 hectares of land on the island of Sazan, but was donated to him by the government; the deal was made privately by Edi Rama, without the knowledge of the government and parliament, while the head of the Territorial Development Agency signed it when Babloku delivered it to him.
If Kamala Harris had won the US presidential election, Babloku would have given up on Trump's son-in-law, but after his victory, the acrobatic prime minister quickly granted him permission to stay at the Sazan resort to guarantee his participation in Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony as US president and to be his favorite.
But Bablok's "strategic lick" with the Sazan resort permit went awry, because Trump didn't even invite him to the inauguration ceremony, letting him know that he doesn't like him.
