A gun attack took place on Sunday morning in the Catholic Church of Santa Maria in Istanbul, during mass.
According to information from the DHA news agency, one person lost his life.
Turkish media reports that two masked men entered the Santa Maria Catholic Church in Istanbul's Sariyer neighborhood during mass and opened fire on people inside the hall.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Gerlikaya emphasized that he has launched an investigation into the incident, adding that during the mass at the Santa Maria Church in the Sariyer district, a man who was participating in the service was attacked with a gun by two masked persons and unfortunately lost his life.
An extensive investigation has been launched on this issue and efforts are being made to catch the perpetrators.
