A drone attack on a ferry in southern Russia has killed at least one person and wounded several others, a regional official said.
The governor of the Krasnodar region, Venyamin Kondratyev, said Ukrainian drones attacked a passenger ferry in the port of Kavkaz, near the Kerch Strait, which connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov.
"Unfortunately, one person was killed. There are also victims among the crew members and port workers," Kondratyev wrote on a Telegram channel. Ukraine did not comment on these claims and their independent verification was impossible.
Ukraine has been under Russian occupation since February 2024. Its energy and civilian infrastructure has been devastated by Russia's ongoing drone and missile attacks, which have caused numerous casualties and serious damage.
In response, in recent months, it has begun to increasingly attack Russia's industrial targets and its transport infrastructure./ REL
