At least 65 people have been killed since yesterday after Benjamin Netanyahu ordered military forces to carry out new attacks on Gaza while accusing Hamas of violating the agreement.

This action came after the handover of the remains of another hostage, but it turned out that they did not belong to any of the 13 currently being held in the enclave, as well as after exchanges of fire that occurred in southern Gaza between the IDF and the group's militants.

US President Donald Trump defended Israel's attacks, saying they were justified because, according to him, "they killed an Israeli soldier," without mentioning Hamas.

"Israel has the right to retaliate. If Hamas does not behave properly, it will be eliminated," Trump said, expressing confidence that the ceasefire is not in danger and that nothing will jeopardize it.

Israel said the attacks were in response to violations of the US-brokered ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli defense minister blamed Hamas for an attack in southern Gaza that killed an Israeli soldier.
Hamas denied any connection to the attack and said it remained committed to the ceasefire.

The attacks hit residential areas in the cities of Gaza, Beit Lahia, Bureij, Nuseirat and Khan Younis. Witnesses reported "pillars of fire and smoke" rising from destroyed buildings.

In Gaza, 14 people were found dead, including women and children. A family of five was killed in the Bureij camp.

In Khan Younis, five more were killed in an attack on a vehicle. The Israeli government said Hamas had “crossed a red line” by attacking soldiers.
Hamas accused Israel of “flagrant violations of the ceasefire.”

Trump and Vice President JD Vance said the ceasefire still remains in effect, despite “minor clashes.”
The ceasefire is part of a 20-point peace plan for Gaza proposed by the US.

Since the start of the war in October 2023, over 68,000 Palestinians have been killed according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
