Maduro's capture

The covert operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, dubbed “Maduro Out,” began last summer, when Donald Trump authorized the CIA to carry out “covert operations” on Venezuelan territory. The goal was clear: to track the leader’s movements, study his support base and the security network that protected him.

The American agents operated quietly, combining classic infiltration methods with the most advanced technology, including the use of drones. In parallel, according to American sources, the US secret services also sought support within the Venezuelan military apparatus, as it is considered difficult for such an operation to be carried out without internal help, in a country filled with extreme security controls.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was conducting secret negotiations with figures from the Caracas regime. Rubio himself confirmed that he had offered Maduro a "way out" "more than once", but without giving details of what this offer entailed. One of the unclear points remains whether the US was ready to guarantee him a trial-free departure from the United States.

After negotiations failed, the Trump administration's political team, consisting of Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Stephen Miller, in collaboration with US generals led by Chief of Staff Dan Caine, planned the military intervention. Trump approved the plan four days after Christmas, but due to bad weather, it was decided to wait until the right moment.

The operation was launched at 10:46 p.m. on Friday, January 2, Washington time. The operation involved the Navy, the Air Force, and especially the special anti-terrorism unit, Delta Force. More than 150 fighter jets took off from about 20 bases, both land-based and from aircraft carriers. F-35 fighter jets, B-1 bombers, drones, and attack helicopters were used in the operation.

During the night, the planes bombed several strategic targets in Caracas and its surroundings, including the port of La Guaira, the Higuerote airport and the La Carlota military base. The main target was the Fuerte Tiuna military complex, where Maduro was staying with his wife, Cilia Flores.

After the air defenses were neutralized, Apache helicopters transported Delta Force units to the complex. At 02:01 in the morning, according to Caracas local time, special forces entered the perimeter, cut off the electricity and penetrated the building. According to Trump, the clashes were fierce, but so far there is no clear information about casualties on the Venezuelan side.

Maduro and his wife were on the ground floor. Within 46 seconds, special forces entered the bedroom. Maduro tried to flee to a fortified room, but stopped after a few steps. He was arrested and handcuffed. FBI agents served him with an arrest warrant issued by the New York courts. According to Rubio, this was not “an act of war,” but the execution of a US court decision.

The most delicate phase was the departure from Venezuelan territory. Maduro and his wife were transported by helicopter to a US aircraft carrier in the waters off the coast. At 04:29, the helicopters landed on the deck of the US battleship “Iwo Jima”.

After the operation was completed, Donald Trump published a photo of Maduro in handcuffs, wearing a gray tracksuit and large sunglasses, symbolically comparing him to a defeated historical figure./ Pamphlet
