American President Joe Biden has strongly condemned the assassination of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. He said that this is a terrible act that has alarmed everyone. Biden adds that he and his wife Jill wish Fico a speedy recovery and expresses his willingness to help him.
"We condemn this terrible act of violence. Our embassy is in close contact with the government of Slovakia and ready to help," Mr. Biden said.
While Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the attack on the Slovak Prime Minister as a monstrous crime, while adding that this act has no justification.
"I know Robert Fico as a brave and strong-minded man. I really hope that these qualities will help him survive in this difficult situation ," he said.
Also, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted after the attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. He calls it a "terrible" act.
"We strongly condemn this act of violence against the prime minister of our neighboring partner state. Everything must be done to ensure that violence does not become the norm in any country, in any form and in any area ," Zelenskyy wrote on the X social network.
Zelenskyy wished Fico a speedy recovery and expressed solidarity with the people of Slovakia.
Fico was shot in Handlova today after leaving the government meeting. Meanwhile, the author of the incident has been arrested.
