A Moscow court sentenced former Russian Foreign Ministry employee Arseniy Konovalov to 12 years in prison.
He is accused of espionage, and is suspected of providing secret information to US intelligence, Interfax reported on Friday, citing the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
Konovalov, "while on a long-term assignment in the United States, passed on to American intelligence secret information that had come to his knowledge during the performance of his duties in exchange for a monetary reward," the agency reported, citing the FSB.
