
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Greece, during his tour of the Middle East, which goes to this region for the fourth time, after the new turn that the Israel-Hamas war took.
As State Department spokesman Matthew Miller confirmed, in addition to visits to Greece and Turkey, Blinken will also visit Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and the West Bank.
Before arriving in Tel Aviv, the head of American diplomacy will pass from Turkey to Greece and is expected to meet in Chania, Crete with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis.
Specifically, Blinken will be in Chania on Saturday afternoon, where he will meet with the Greek Prime Minister and, among other things, will discuss the issue of the F35 aircraft that Athens wants to buy from the US.
As the Greek media point out, the American Foreign Minister is said to meet Turkish President Erdogan to discuss the issue of approval that Ankara must give for Sweden's membership in NATO, an action that has been expected for months and whose delay has caused discontent among great in Washington and a heavy climate of reactions in Congress.
