United States President Donald Trump has told reporters at the White House that the fate of the war depends on how Iran behaves tomorrow.
Trump announced that Iran is an "active and willing participant" in negotiations to end the war.
"I can't talk about a ceasefire, but I can tell you that we have an active and willing participant on the other side. They would like to make a deal. I can't say more than that ," Trump said.
He added that contacts with mediators to resolve the conflict are ongoing and, according to him, "are going well."
The President emphasized that there is a deadline for the progress of the negotiations, noting that the other side has until 8:00 PM the next day, US Eastern Time.
Trump also confirmed the involvement of Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner in contacts with intermediary countries regarding the conflict in Iran.
"They basically have until 8 p.m. tomorrow night, Eastern time, but we're dealing with them. I think it's going well. Mr. Witkoff is here and JD is involved in the deal. Mr. Witkoff is sitting here and I think it's going well, but we'll have to see ," he said.
According to the president's statements, the diplomatic process remains in an active phase, while the outcome of the negotiations still remains unclear.
Trump said during his speech that the Iranian people "must rise up against the regime," adding that the consequences of such action would be "great."
He dismissed criticism of his strategy towards Iran, stressing that "everything has been thought out by us."
Asked about the potential impact of the US targeting civilian infrastructure in Iran, he said that Iranian citizens would be "willing to suffer to have their freedom."
The president also added that the United States has secured "numerous intercepts" that, according to him, show that there is a demand from within Iran for further attacks against the regime.
