President Donald Trump, 78, will undergo a medical checkup in the coming weeks, the White House said in a statement released on Saturday.
"President Donald J. Trump will undergo a routine medical checkup next month at the National Military Medical Center," the March 1 announcement said.
"The date of the medical check-up will be announced in the coming weeks," said the statement signed by his doctor, Sean Barbabella, a career military doctor who served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The announcement comes amid speculation about his health. A large bruise on President Donald Trump's right hand was the focus of attention during his meeting with President Macron earlier this week. The sightings have prompted questions about the cause of the bruise and the 78-year-old president's overall condition.
