British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a meeting.
Starmer deliberately went out into the street to greet the Ukrainian head of state, while also giving him a warm hug.

Before the private meeting began, they took a few moments for the media. Referring to cheering crowds gathered outside Downing Street, the prime minister told Zelensky: "You have the full support of the whole of the United Kingdom and we stand with you and Ukraine for as long as it takes."

He added that the UK has an "absolute" and "unwavering" determination to achieve "what we both want to achieve, which is... a lasting peace for Ukraine based on sovereignty and security."
Zelensky thanked Starmer and the people of the United Kingdom for their support since the beginning of the war.
