US diplomat Richard Grenell has commented on Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's statements in Davos as well as the post by EU Commissioner for Membership Marta Kos regarding a meeting with the Serbian president.
"Europe is in trouble. We all see this," Grenell wrote as he shared a fragment of Vučić's speech in Davos.
"I've been attending Davos for a long time and I've never seen people so worried. No one is smiling. Because no one knows what tomorrow will bring ," is an excerpt from Vučić's speech.
Meanwhile, Marta Kos previously met with the representative of Serbia, a candidate country for EU membership since 2014, but the process has now been 'frozen' due to the failure to implement reforms, especially regarding the rule of law, anti-EU rhetoric and alignment with EU foreign policy, especially regarding Russia and Kosovo.
"I met with Vučić to discuss the reforms that Serbia needs to stay firmly on its European path and advance the Growth Plan. We agreed to increase our joint work on energy security, reducing dependencies and working together towards an independent Europe," wrote Marta Kos.
Meanwhile, the American diplomat, as he reposted on X, writes: Europe is in trouble - your economies are being strangled by Brussels. Innovation is almost dead. Companies are not growing within Europe. Vučić should follow the US path - not the European path.
