US President Donald Trump has announced that he will order federal government departments and agencies to find and release files on aliens and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), something he says some Americans have been asking for for decades.
"Given the extraordinary interest that has been expressed, I will be directing the Secretary of War (ed. Pete Hegseth) and all other relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of locating and releasing government records related to extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects ," the tycoon said via Truth Social.
Previously, the Republican accused his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama of revealing "classified information" when he said during a podcast, perhaps jokingly, that aliens really exist.

"I don't know if (aliens) are real or not," however, the former Democratic president "made a big mistake ," said the Republican tycoon, who never misses an opportunity to criticize his predecessor and recently posted a video on Truth Social before retracting it that depicted him, along with his wife, as monkeys, causing a storm of reactions.
At the end of the podcast that aired over the weekend, Barack Obama answered a question about the existence of aliens: "They really exist, but I haven't seen them."
He added that, as far as he knows, there is no "underground facility" used to hide their existence - he was referring to Area 51, the US Air Force base in Nevada, the subject of endless conspiracy theories.
