Hezbollah threatens Israel: Don't violate the ceasefire, we have our

Hezbollah has threatened Israel, declaring today that its fighters keep their "finger on the trigger" in case Israel violates a 10-day ceasefire that came into effect overnight.

In a statement, the pro-Iranian organization said it had carried out “2,184 military operations” against Israel and the Israeli army in Lebanese territory during the 45-day war. “ The fighters will keep their finger on the trigger because they fear betrayal by the enemy,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, people displaced by the war in Lebanon began returning to their homes on Monday, worried about whether they would still be standing. However, some do not plan to stay, fearing that the 10-day ceasefire in the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel could prove fragile.

Piles of rubble now lie where buildings once stood in Beirut's southern suburbs, areas controlled by Hezbollah that were hit by Israel for more than six weeks of conflict that began with the US-Iran war.

In Kasmiya, in southern Lebanon, vehicles crossed a makeshift crossing over the Litani River, hastily constructed after the ceasefire came into effect at midnight (local time and Greek time). Israel had destroyed all bridges over the Litani River during the war.

“I saw my house and I thank God it is still standing,” said Ali Hamza, who had just visited his apartment in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital. However, he added that “people are afraid to come to live and it is impossible to live in these conditions and with this wind. A return to normal is difficult now, despite the difficulties of displacement.”

In the southern city of Nabatieh, some residents who returned said they would stay. Others said there was nothing left to hold them back.

"There is destruction and no one can live there. It is uninhabitable. We are taking our things and leaving again," said Fadel Badrendin, who went to the area with his young son and wife.

"May God have mercy on us and may this end once and for all, not temporarily so that we can return to our homes and land."
