
23 people were injured by the earthquake that shook the south of Turkey yesterday.
It is learned that the magnitude of the earthquake that hit Eastern Turkey was 5.3, according to what the European Mediterranean Seismological Center reports. The earthquake was at a depth of 11 km.
The epicenter is located 10 kilometers southwest of the city of Malatya. This province was also affected by the February 6 earthquakes. As a result of the great tremors in the southeast of Turkey and the north of Syria, it has been reported that more than 50,000 people have died from the last earthquake.
This earthquake is reported about six months after two large destructive earthquakes in this region.
The Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, said on Thursday evening that the injuries were caused by residents jumping from high floors.
