US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has reacted to the US attack on Venezuela. He stated that Nicolas Maduro is in US custody, adding that he will be tried on criminal charges.
Meanwhile, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has stated that Venezuelan authorities have no information about the whereabouts of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, describing the situation as extremely serious.
US President Donald Trump declared on Saturday morning in a post on the Truth Social network that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife have been "captured and flown out of the country," following what he described as US military strikes on Venezuela.
"The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale attack against Venezuela and its leader," Trump wrote.
Meanwhile, Venezuela's Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino López, announced in a video posted on social media on Saturday morning the deployment of military forces across the country, following the attacks by the US military.
