The US and Europe are at the mercy of bad weather. At least 83 people have died this week due to severe weather that hit the United States.
The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 19 weather-related deaths, and Oregon officials have also confirmed 16 people, including three adults who died when a tree fell on their car.
Most of the deaths were reported in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Washington, Kentucky, Wisconsin, New York and New Jersey.
Some deaths remain under investigation to confirm whether they are weather-related. They include one person killed in a crash in Kentucky and four deaths in Illinois, two of which were caused by a single-vehicle crash.
Hazardous weather continues across the United States through the weekend. Tens of millions of people woke up Saturday morning to below-average temperatures, while the eastern half of the country is likely to experience the coldest weather of the season, strong winds and North Florida has been warned of heavy snowfall.
Authorities and experts are warning residents to "wear thick clothing if they must go outside, be careful when using appliances such as heaters and watch for serious symptoms such as hypothermia."
On the West Coast, Oregon remains under a state of emergency after deadly ice storms hit the region, leaving more than 45,000 without power. Other power outages were reported in Pennsylvania, California, New Mexico and Indiana.
According to Euronews, Southern Europe, from west to east, is being hit by heavy snowstorms.
In Spain, several major highways were closed as several provinces, including Soria, Segovia, Zaragoza and Guadalajara, found themselves in the wake of Hurricane Juan.
It brought freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall that left half the country on alert.
In southern Austria, the storm was preceded by downpours, which made roads slippery and caused traffic chaos.
In Greece, heavy snowfall has also been reported, where transport has been blocked in some of the country's main axes.
The situation is also serious in Albania, where our country has been paralyzed by snowfall during the day. In various parts of the country, it has been reported about problems with circulation and electricity in some villages of the country.
