Iran accuses Israel of violating ceasefire: Agreement was undermined before it
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf

Iranian authorities have stated that the recently reached ceasefire was violated in its initial stages, directly accusing Israel of undermining the agreement before the start of negotiations.

The speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in an official statement, emphasizes that three key points of the agreement were violated “before the talks began.” According to him, the non-compliance with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the violation of Iranian airspace with a drone, and the denial of Iran’s right to enrich uranium constitute clear violations of the agreed framework.

In the statement, Tehran underlines that these actions confirm a "repeated pattern" of violating commitments and call into question the basis on which negotiations were expected to take place. According to Ghalibaf, under these conditions, the continuation of the diplomatic process becomes unjustifiable.

In the same vein, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi raised the issue of violations during a phone call with Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, he discussed “the ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime in Iran and Lebanon,” directly linking the situation on the ground to the rising tensions.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media has reported an even harsher stance. According to the Fars news agency, Tehran is considering taking action against Israel over violations in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the Tasnim news agency cited sources as saying that Iran could withdraw from the ceasefire agreement if Israeli actions continue.

These developments follow a phase of escalation in Lebanon, where Israeli military actions have created uncertainty over the actual implementation of the ceasefire and have prompted strong reactions from Tehran.

In this context, recent statements by the Iranian leadership indicate that the tensions are not just a matter of interpretation of the agreement, but are directly related to developments on the ground. For Iran, the situation in Lebanon has become a key element determining whether the ceasefire will hold or collapse completely.
