Despite being supported by the US and most Western countries, Israel appears to be copying Russian President Vladimir Putin's methods by shutting down media reporting against the government's stance.
According to the Qatar-based Arab TV Network, the Israeli government is preparing to temporarily shut down Al Jazeera and other media whose reporting it says "damages national security" in the war with Gaza militias.
Al Jazeera reports that the Ministry of Transport of Israel has already drafted the decision for this emergency measure, with the approval of the Ministry of Defense and the Israeli security forces.
" All that remains to stop the channel's broadcasts from Israel is final government approval, which is expected in the next few hours, according to a ministerial statement," reports Al Jazeera. In the announcement, it is emphasized that as soon as the green light is received from the cabinet, then the order will have an immediate "effect".
