A serious incident has occurred in Texas, USA, where a 7-year-old girl was kidnapped and then murdered by a mailman, a case that has shocked public opinion and been widely covered by international media.
This is Athina Strand, who was kidnapped in November 2022 by a FedEx delivery driver, 34-year-old Tanner Horner. The defendant has pleaded guilty to murder.
Jurors could not hold back their tears as they watched the shocking video in which Athina Strand, a 7-year-old girl, is seen asking the FedEx delivery man if he would kidnap her, just moments before he killed her.

In the video, the girl talks to Horner about her teacher and school, through a vehicle camera recording on the day of the murder, in November 2022.
As the truck pulls up, the child begins to look increasingly frightened. Many members of the jury cried during the hearing, while family members left the courtroom due to the psychological toll.
A photograph that was released earlier showed Athena inside the vehicle, next to Horner, during her abduction.
The perpetrator had taken the child from her home in Paradise, Texas, while delivering a package of Barbie gifts that were intended for Christmas.
The defendant has already pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and the court must now decide whether to impose the death penalty.
The deceased girl's mother and father testified in court, but were not in the courtroom during the video's showing. According to the full recording, Horner arrived at the family's home to deliver packages, and the minor followed him outside.
He then put her in the vehicle and took her inside the truck, where he closed the door.
The child asked him several times if he was a kidnapper. The accused asked him to sit down and reportedly threatened to hurt him if he screamed.
Next, he asked her about the school, the teacher, and other personal details, while the girl answered.
At one point, the vehicle stops and the girl asks where they are, while Horner replies that he doesn't live nearby.
A little later, he asks her to "wait a minute," and then asks her to take off her clothes; she refuses and asks for her mother.
Moments of terror ensue, with the child heard crying and screaming, before the recording cuts off. Horner had told authorities that he had accidentally hit the child with his vehicle and that he panicked, throwing him into the van. According to his testimony, he then strangled him inside the vehicle.
